Description

This is an unusual and very rare photo of a Russian and Bulgarian soldier. Bulgaria was allied with the Axis powers prior to the invasion by the Soviet Army Sept 8, 1944. They then allied themselves against their former allies.
Based on the uniform and insignia of the Bulgarian (German style tunic, with no Communist insignia), this was taken after Sept 8, 1944 and probably before the end of 1944 or early 1945. A very rare picture indeed.
