Description
This is Rare Royal Bulgarian Knife of the Tourist Youth Union, pre WWII .
The blade of the knife is marked by the manufacturer At. Sultanov Gabrovo.(Ат. Султановъ Габрово)
This  knife was made use of prior to WWII by the youth tourist organizations members in Bulgaria.At the beginning of 20th c. among the Bulgarian young people were popular the Scouts' organization, the Youth Tourist Union and the "Younak" Society.
It is interesting to note that edelweiss is the symbol of the Bulgarian Tourist Union.
The first two organizations were characterized by buckles like the one we are offering, but their letterings and emblems were different. In 1911 t was established the "School Tourist Union", which was renamed to "Youth Tourist Union" in 1913. In 1941 t was founded the German- youth-organizations equivalent called "Brannik". "Brannik" is actually the continuation of the "Younak" and "Youth Tourist Union" that existed previously. According to the historical information available the last youth movements existed until 1941. We guess that the Knife we are offering was worn in the 1930s.
This is an very rare early prototype of the later infamous Brannik knives. The knife has the typical blade type and length for the Brannik scout knives. The handle is made of aluminum and wood.

Length of the blade: 4,5" ( 11,5 cm.)
