Description
This is a rare find--an entire 3-piece matching vintage parure (necklace, bracelet, earrings) set of sterling Art Deco color change art glass (sometimes called opalite or synthetic alexandrite).  These pieces were crafted in the 1930s and still retain their beauty--they are in mint condition.  This set is fabulous--I took many photos in slightly different lighting situations, but still could not capture the sparkle and beauty of these stones in the photos.  I think you will see the color changes, though.  These are of Japanese origin, marked "SILVER."
The large chunky glass stones (10.8 - 11 mm for necklace and bracelet, and 9.1 mm in the earrings) are set in silver Belcher mountings, with claw prongs.  They change color, from light purple, to light pink, to grey, to blue-ish green depending on the light, and their many facets encourage light to dance off the surface and create a ton of sparkle.  Six stones in the necklace; 9 in the bracelet, and one in each of the screw-on earrings (these earrings would make amazing dangles or studs if you wanted a jeweler to change them).
The necklace has 15 1/2" of wearable length, and closes with a hook and decorative clasp (marked SILVER).  It's 1/2" wide.  The bracelet is 6 3/4" long and closes with a round push clasp (marked SILVER)--also 1/2" wide.  The earrings measure 1/2" also, and all pieces test positive for sterling silver.  The set weighs 39.1 grams and is in excellent vintage condition.
