    Description

Ultra rare Bulgarian Royal Air force General's dagger with etched blade made by Eickhorn with original hanger with eagle loops!
Bulgarian award daggers were made in famous Solingen in Germany. Here we have Bulgarian Airforce general's dagger model 1930 with etched blade made by Eickhorn with original hanger with eagle loops.
    The grip has
on the handle side the Bulgarian coat of arms with the rised lion.
In the eyes of the eagle head are mounted rubys.
This dagger belonged to Major-General Gencho Ivanov Manchev (1894-1968) and was bought from his heirs in Sofia. They donated his second dagger with multiple awards to bulgarian museum.
This scabbard has original paint which is showing its age. There is some lifting and crazing on both sides of the scabbard but still, the majority of the original paint still exists.
Whole nickel-plated blade is real beauty in near mint condition (NM). On front side of the blade is writen text in Bulgarian" For King and Fatherland" with small lose of nickel on the tip. On the other side is etched monogram of King Boris III.
The crossguard is in really nice condition with pinned silver aero radial engine with gilted cylinders.
