Description
Giant Kentucky Lake Crinoid Stem Fossil from Calloway County, KY on the Tennessee River bank. It weighs a whapping 15 lbs and the matrix measures 13" X 7" X 5". The actual crinoid stem impression is over 10.5" long and over a half inch wide. Crinoids are marine animals belonging to the phylum Echinodermata and the class Crinoidea. They are an ancient fossil group that first appeared in the seas of the mid Cambrian, about 300 million years before dinosaurs. They flourished in the Palaeozoic and Mesozoic eras and some survive to the present day. Great for the classroom or budding archeologist. .00 shipping to the USA. Thanks
