    Description

This is the first of two sets of Vis-Ed. cards on American History. This first set begins with the discovery of America and closes with the post-Civil War era. A few cards have been duplicated at the end of this set (as well as in No.2 set since some first semester courses may continue through the reconstruction era.                                                                            Each card contains a topic heading which may be a place, a name, an event, or a term. On all person cards the date of death is shown. If more than one card has been used for a given topic, this is clearly indicated by the card numbers in parentheses in the upper left corner. In most cases the additional card or cards on a single topic will follow in order. In some instances two or three additional cards on the same topic may be widely separated. For example' the cards on George Washington are numbered 245, 324, and 420. Reference to the index will indicate the number of the cards on a specific topic.                                                                                                                                                                                                Each card contains one or more numbered questions on one side and the numbered answers on the reverse side.                                                                                                             Vis-Ed. cards consist of a wide variety of learning. Study aids included in this set Vis-Ed cards are: Table of Contents; Alphabetical index; and a separate listing of Major Topic Headings, such as Indians, Presidents, Wars, Treaties, etc...                                                                                                                                                                                                    Suggestions for using Vis-Ed American History cards; As a supplement to textbook: As a substitute for a textbook: As a source of information for the general reader.
