This is an economy light for your chicken coop to provide the extra light your hens need to continue laying eggs into the Winter months.  As daylight decreases, chickens naturally decrease the number of eggs they lay.  To continue laying through the Winter months, they need between 14-16 hours of light each day for their internal clock to tell them to keep producing.  You just set the timer and each day the light will turn on and off automatically!  And the light works to light up your coop on-demand if you need light while you are out there at night.
Need a timer light for another purpose?  Also works great for sheds, barns or any other area where some light would be helpful.

Note:
