This listing is for an antique FLAPPER style half doll.
Made in Germany and incised on back of base.
She is an original antique piece and is in excellent condition.
She comes from my private collection.
This half doll is in excellent antique condition.

Circa 1920's
Her mohair wig is new and made from the finest Mohair. She came to me "bald" and was in need of a brand new Mohair wig. Making Mohair wigs is an art in and of itself and requires patience and talent. We used only the finest Mohair when designing this little lady her new hairstyle.
She also wears a hand made crocheted wide brimmed hat with silk ribbon and bead accents.
This half doll is 4 inches in height.
This half doll has exceptional mold detail. You can find others from the same mold but it is easy to tell which ones were produced by a quality manufacturer by the detail within the mold and the quality of hand painting and craftsmanship.
She is an "arms away returning" style half doll.
References to this wonderful collectible half doll may be found in several collector's reference books.
Two such examples can be found on Page 299 in "The Collector's Encyclopedia of Half Dolls" by Freida Marion and Norma Werner. Another is on page 78 in "The Half-Doll Price Guide" by Sally Van Luven and Susan Graham.
This lovely antique piece has been hand painted. Her lovely blue eyes are well defined and is the rest of her facial features.
The colors are vibrant and the artist work is exceptional.
She is simple yet elegant in her cheerful yellow top with brick red collar and bright blue tie.
I have used silk ribbon in her hand crochet hat to compliment her painted bodice.
She would make a beautiful addition to any collection and would also make a stunning pincushion doll.
She is such a bright and cheerful half doll and would brighten up any corner or any décor.
